Vanessa Miller is a USA Today bestselling author, playwright, and motivational speaker whose work centers on powerful stories of resilience, redemption, and the lived experiences of Black women in pivotal moments of history. She has written more than fifty novels, including The American Queen, which brings to life the haunting history of a Black Appalachian kingdom formed in the aftermath of slavery, and The Filling Station, a deeply researched historical novel about survival after the Tulsa Race Massacre. Miller lives in North Carolina with her family and holds a degree in Organizational Communication from Capital University.
