A Look Back at Southern Gothic Festival 2024
The inaugural Southern Gothic Festival Camden (Oct 18-20, 2024) brought together authors, folklorists, and true crime experts for a weekend of eerie storytelling and Southern mystery. Tally Johnson shared chilling Carolina ghost lore, gothic duo Valentine Wolfe mesmerized with haunting melodies, and legal experts dissected the Murdaugh trials. Bryce Gibson and Donald Ray Pollock explored the dark depths of Southern fiction, while Grady Hendrix headlined with a keynote on Southern Gothic and horror. The festival closed with true crime tales, folklore discussions, and a lantern-lit tour of Camden’s haunted history. With literature, music, and immersive experiences, its haunting legacy continues in 2025.
