Heather D. Freeman is Professor of Digital Media in the Department of Art & Art History at UNC Charlotte. For over twenty years, Freeman has created and taught classes in animation, podcasting, games and interactive design, or other areas of digital media. She is the writer and host of the recently completed NEH-funded and PRX produced podcast series Magic in the United States. She is also known for her previous solo podcast series Familiar Shapes and is currently working on a new, semi-autobiographical series to be released in late 2025.
