Southern Gothic Street Concert to Take Over Downtown Camden with Music, Food, and Ghostly Charm

CAMDEN, SC — The Southern Gothic Festival opens with a Friday night celebration that transforms Downtown Camden into an eerie, enchanting street party. Beginning at 7:00 PM on October 10, Rutledge Street becomes the heart of the festival’s after-dark revelry—complete with open-carry cocktails, food trucks, and live music under vintage lights.

The evening promises an immersive blend of the strange and the spectacular. Local and regional musicians will fill the air with moody Southern sounds as guests wander through curated art installations, gothic vignettes, and flickering candlelight scenes. Food vendors will serve festival favorites and Southern bites with a twist, while themed lighting and decor add a cinematic atmosphere to one of Camden’s most beloved streets.

Visitors are encouraged to dress for the occasion—think romantic darkness, vintage lace, or your own take on Southern Gothic style.

The Friday night street festival is free and open to the public, with beverages available for purchase in the designated open-carry zone. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the genre or simply love a good Southern party, this is the night to let your darker side dance.
